DevOps & Cloud Engineer · Remote · UTC+5

I ship infrastructure as code: GitHub Actions to Terraform to Kubernetes, monitoring baked in.

I automate the path from commit to production — containerized microservices, reproducible cloud infra and zero-downtime deploys — backed by the real-time, fail-safe discipline I apply daily to flight-simulation systems.

About

A reliability mindset

Usman Ahsan Pervez

I’m a software engineer who treats infrastructure as a product: versioned, tested and observable. Across 4+ years I’ve owned deployment pipelines, containerized full-stack applications and provisioned cloud environments so teams can ship safely and often — work I did leading delivery at Apex IT Solutions for international clients. I currently engineer real-time flight-simulation software, where uptime, deterministic behavior and telemetry are non-negotiable, and that reliability mindset is exactly what I bring to production infra. I pair AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform with CI/CD in GitHub Actions and Jenkins for zero-downtime releases, and I’m working through the AWS Solutions Architect Associate track to formalize it (in study — not yet earned). I hold a BS in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from FAST-NUCES. I’m based in Pakistan (UTC+5) with 4–6 hours of daily Gulf and Malaysia overlap, available remote, contract or EOR.

Focus

What I do

CI/CD automation

GitHub Actions & Jenkins pipelines with test/build/deploy gates and zero-downtime / blue-green strategies.

Infrastructure as code

Terraform-provisioned, reproducible AWS environments — modular and version-controlled.

Containers & orchestration

Dockerized microservices, Kubernetes deployments and Helm charts.

Observability & reliability

Prometheus/Grafana dashboards and the real-time telemetry instinct carried from flight-sim.

Toolchain

What I work in, day to day

The tools behind the work above — the same stack listed on the CV, nothing aspirational.

Shipped

Production deployment pipelines (Apex client apps)

Docker · Nginx · Git deploy · Linux VPS · CI

Containerized and deployed real client sites (678 Rid Junk, Homesware, SZK Technical) with reproducible builds, reverse-proxy config and TLS — moving teams off manual FTP to repeatable releases.

In progress

Composite RAG app + full CI/CD & IaC pipeline

Docker · GitHub Actions · Terraform · AWS (ECS/EKS) · Prometheus/Grafana

Flagship that wraps a full-stack AI app in a complete delivery pipeline: Dockerfile, Actions test/build/deploy, Terraform-provisioned AWS and Grafana dashboards. v1 in progress with a public roadmap.

Planned

Reusable Terraform module — AWS 3-tier VPC + RDS

Terraform · AWS VPC/RDS · tflint · checkov · Actions

Planned open-source module with a documented README and tflint/checkov passing in CI, designed as a clean, citable IaC artifact.

In progress

SimConnect telemetry-to-web bridge

C++ / SimConnect · WebSocket · Next.js dashboard · time-series

R&D bridge streaming real-time flight-sim telemetry into a live monitoring dashboard — a concrete demo of the observability rigor that transfers to production SRE work.

Why it transfers

Why a flight-sim engineer makes a good SRE

Real-time simulation demands deterministic timing, graceful failure handling and constant telemetry — the same instincts behind good incident response, SLOs and pipeline health.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can I hire a remote DevOps / cloud engineer?

Yes — remote from Pakistan (UTC+5), 4–6 hours of daily overlap with Gulf and Malaysian hours, contract and EOR friendly.

What do you automate?

The path from commit to production — containerized microservices, reproducible cloud infrastructure and zero-downtime deploys, with CI/CD, monitoring and alerting.

Which tools do you use?

AWS, Docker and Kubernetes, Terraform for infrastructure as code, GitHub Actions for CI/CD, and Prometheus/Grafana-style observability.

What makes your DevOps approach different?

I apply the same real-time, fail-safe discipline I use daily on flight-simulation systems — reliability and safe rollbacks are designed in, not bolted on.
